What Does God say about…Having Dreams & Goals??

In your spiritual journey, we believe that God has a plan for our lives. But what about those that don’t believe in Christ? What does he have planned for them? What about Christians? Can we still have goals and dreams outside of what God already has in store for us?

Here we have earthly and Godly expectations. Earthly expectations, dreams, and goals are put in place when we’re dealing with non-believers. Earthly goals are basically what you would want for your life. They’re things that only you see yourself doing or things that someone else, besides God, might want for your life. For an example, a career and a dream can be viewed as earthly expectations. They’re things that you wouldn’t see yourself doing when you pass away. Most people only view passing away as a state of resting. Non-believers put a lot of effort into making sure they live out their lives on earth to the fullest. But for us who follow Christ, we know that there’s more to that than just resting. And there’s more to life than the things we do on earth.

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have made the decision that for one, you believe in God and what He has planned for you and two, you recognize that you’re here to help fulfill His purpose. One thing we (meaning Christians) have to understand is that even though some people might publicly be saved, there isn’t any complaints of not knowing what we want for our lives. This happens because if we have accepted that God has a plan for us, then there’s no need for uncertainty. That isn’t saying we can’t have things that make us happy. God has a way of making sure when you do through things through Him, you’ll always be happy. There wouldn’t be any room for negativity. Yes, we can have personal goals for ourselves so that way we be better for the Lord, but most of us are already where we’re supposed to be. We also don’t have to worry about not having enough time to get things done because we know that we have eternal life through God. And we also know that once we reach the Kingdom of Heaven, our work still continues.

Naturally people complicate things way more than they should. So, when we deal with uncertainty about which way to go in life, examine yourself and where you’re at in your life. Even if we have accepted God in our life, ask yourself, have you allowed God to take full control of your life? Have you fully trusted Him? It doesn’t take a lot to do so. Some of us Christians aren’t secure in God because there isn’t any trust. And if there’s no trust than there’s no faith. And if there isn’t any faith, then you don’t fully believe that there is a God. We also have to understand that not everyone is going to be where you’re at in your spiritual journey. So, it’s okay to take your time. We just have to embrace them with open arms, a good heart, and warmth from within. – Michelle Mims
